There was so much concern regarding Chelsea's injury that we wanted to make sure that Thanks went out to all of Bonita Valley!!! To our Coaches, Parents, and all of the Families & girls at Bonita Valley,
We can't begin to express our feelings of gratitude for all of the support that was given to our family when our daughter Chelsea Gonzalez sustained a head injury during the Santee tournament. Emotions were running very high while we at Sharp Grossmont after Chelsea had a CT scan and we were told that she had a skull fracture and a bleed on her brain. They immediately transferred her to Children's and reassessed Chelsea only to have much better news. The bleed had stopped and she was monitored very closely through the night. Chelsea did great and although she had a terrible headache she only wanted to be back on the field with her team and kept expressing this continuously.
During all of this, her coaches and friends were with us at Children's that night to make sure she was alright. The nurses made an exception and let them in to see her, which meant so much to Chelsea and also to us. Unfortunately one of our parents George Ramos missed Chelsea that evening or should I say very early morning because she had finally fallen asleep. Sorry George! Our Manager Pua Graft was ready to jump ship as she was on a field trip with her daughter on the Star of India. But luckily the news had changed and in talking with the other coaches they made sure Pua was well aware of the situation and able to finish her field trip with her own daughter Lonnie! While in the hospital one of our parents Lisa Brownen, text play by play for Chelsea. She was unbelievable, I couldn't get a text back to her with questions from Chelsea, before the next text was coming through. Our whole team wore wrist bands with her #45 on them made by the Estrada family. For all the girls who wore Chelsea's number showing how much you cared for her! Thank you Bonita Valley for all of your concern, love and support!
Sincerely, |
