12U National Champions 2009

Bonita Valley played 4 games to win the National Championships. Natalie was injured on the second day with torn ligaments to her ankle so we started the day down one girl. We started playing Skagit Valley and lost 8-9 in the bottom of the 6th to find ourselves in the loser's bracket. Then we played the Lady Sharks and won 8-5 to get to the Championship games.

Now we needed two wins against Skagit Valley. In warm ups Madee got injured taking a ball to the eye. Now we were playing with game with 9. The first game we found ourselves down 3-5 in the 7th inning with 2 outs and Jaqi hit a 2 run double to tie the game and Mahlia hit a single put us ahead. Skagit tied the game and we went into ITB Ollie scored the game winning run on a single by Rachel. Ivana finished and completed the game pitching 8 strong innings with a bloody nose and tissue hanging out from it.

Now we would play a final game. The game started Skagit scoring 4 runs but BV came back adding 3. BV scored 1 in the second and it was tied after 2. In the third BV scored 6 hitting through the lineup every girl had a hit. I'm the 5th we scored 3 more and won the game 13-5. Sabrina went 4-4 in the final game and Rachel pitched 5 great innings to win a National championships. Thank you all for your support. 2009 Western World Series National Champions. Woo hoo...
